IV Safety Cannula
The Introcan IV safety catheter is and advanced cannula for the purposes of IV infusion and intravenous access. The cannula has an integrated septum to reduce blood splash and a automated safety cap, that fully encloses the needle tip on withdrawal.
The Introcan Safety 3 Catheter is a specially developed cannula for intravenous infusion of with a passive safety feature and a blood splash reduction system.
The passive safety system releases a shield around the tip of the needle to reduce the risk of unintended sharps injuries, this safety catch is designed to be tamper proof so that it cannot be accidentally released for optimum protection
The Catheter hub has been carefully designed to provide optimum stability when secure to your client via medical tape or specialised IV dressings.
The Catheter also includes an integrated multi-access septum. This septum is designed to close on full removal of the needle, preventing excess leakage of blood therefore reducing clean up time. This septum will only be re-opened when a leur lock device such as a gravity administration line is attached to the catheter hub and will close again on removal of the leur lock device.
The standard gravity speed for infusion is 35ml/minute
